Griffith’s 5 Minute Clinical Consult is included in Epocrates Essentials and some lesser packages also. I became familiar with the book when it was first included in my epocrates package. It is integrated with Epocrates Rx and when it displays a drug for treatment it is linked so you can read about it, do the med math with special built in calculators, get the dosage correct, know the approximate price and which formularies carry it. If a patient is on multiple meds I use med check to clear the addition of a new one. Griffith’s test is helpful in the exam room.

There I can show patients the basics of their illness, the recommended tests for evaluation and the alternative treatments. I recommend the use of this text. It is so convenient to have it on my palm pda. I might get some money if you buy it through Amazon but it is a much better deal to have it as part of the Epocrates package. If you aren’t going to use Epocrates, I recommend the pda version.
