What is your favorite reference

I work with a woman who is a professor in the PA program at Duke university. I asked her a few days ago to tell me what references she used most. She directed me two online references. The first is called MD Consult.

At $219 per year for the core from Elsevier it is a good reference. The company lists the following content.

“Our flagship edition MD Consult Core Service helps physicians answer clinical questions and stay abreast of recent developments by integrating:

  • 51 respected medical reference books
  • Over 71 medical journals and clinics
  • PDFs available for many Elsevier Journals and Clinics
  • MEDLINE
  • Comprehensive drug information
  • Peer-reviewed clinical practice guidelines.
  • Over 9,500 customizable patient education handout
  • Daily personalized clinical updates
  • and online CME “
  • Just the CME could be worth the price. I will talk about her second reference next time.
