Lose 1 pound of Fat a week - Nutrition
Proper nutrition is essential for a healthy body. We could argue about organic versus non-organic, filtered or bottled water versus tap water but it is moot if you don’t have a plan that covers the basics. It is better to eat vegetables and fruits rather than junk. Organic or not you will be healthier. You must eat right to lose one pound of fat a week.
Few of us get enough of the right kinds of food in our daily intake. We eat too many calories in large portions of the wrong foods. You could get books and buy courses and subscribe to websites and really spend a lot of money on the solution. The solution to this problem is free. I didn’t say perfect, I said free and it is good information.
I attended a course, 24 hours in length, called weight loss leadership. In the course they encouraged use of www.MyPyramid.gov as a resource to plan a healthy diet. It is the recently revised dietary information provided by the federal government. It is the free resource I referred to above.
The Department of Agriculture put the site together and it is much improved compared to the last food pyramid. On the Pyramid you will see vertical bands that are colored from left to right, Orange, Green, Red, very thin Yellow, Blue and Purple. From right to left, Orange=Grains, Green=Vegetables, Red=Fruits, Yellow=oils(fats), Blue=Dairy and Purple=Meat, Nuts, Beans. The steps to the left of the pyramid indicate step by step progress and the need to incorporate exercise into any program to improve health.
On the site you will find Steps to a Healthier Weight which includes sections on “What to eat” “How much to eat” and “Nutrient Dense Foods”.
You can figure this out on your own if you have enough time. For some it is a lot of information, and a lot of time. I am thinking of helping you do this by offering a free teleconference. You would listen in on your phone or on the web through your computer. To listen in live is free but the replay would cost a small fee to those who did not preregister to listen. The conference would last an hour and you could submit questions when you register and anytime prior or during to be answered during the call. First come first served for the questions.
