Holiday Temptations - How to avoid overeating
Holiday temptations and interruptions start this month and do not stop until after the Super Bowl is played in January. This can just be a time of increased vigilance or a time you get off track and lose your way in your quest to create your Recipe to Look Better Naked.
How can you avoid these traps? First look at your self talk. Are you telling yourself that you can not possibly resist? If you are then you are setting yourself up for failure. Write yourself a response to these thoughts.
Write it on a 3×5 card carry it with you. Read it every time you think a related thought. You could say to yourself something like this, “I am going to stay on track. I know where I want my health and fitness to be on January1st, 2009 and I am not going to let a few bites of food stop me. I am going to stick to my plan. I will increase my lifestyle exercise. I will eat all my food sitting down. I will stay on my planned number of calories each day. I will implement every strategy I know to help me avoid the temptation to over eat.”
Some of these strategies are to throw away food from your plate you do not and should not want to eat. If you are served too much, it is not wasteful to just throw it away. It is more wasteful to eat it when you do not need the calories. Put Halloween candy out of site. Keep snacks and treats you can not resist out of the house.
In the coming weeks I will be writing about lifestyle exercise, How to handle people who tempt you to get off your planned diet, Getting a friend to be your diet coach, Hiring a professional to help you, etc…

Sign up in the second box from the top in the far right column on my blog. The teleseminar is called Recipe to Look Better Naked.
Starting in January I will offer a prerecorded course with a workbook. It will consist of 6 one hour recordings and the workbook pages that accompany that topic. The cost will be $29.95. It will be delivered to you as one lesson per week starting on the day you register and pay your fee. Listen on your iPod, work at your own pace. Set yourself up for the success you want and looking better naked the way you want. I will direct you to the site to obtain this very soon. It will be available to early birds around Dec 11 for a discount. The only way you will know is to read my blog posts as only my readers will get this discounted offer and only for a limited time. This sounds like a really helpful program. A new lesson every week will make it easy to do. And, I like the very reasonable price. I’m thinking this will make a really good Christmas present for someone special I know. Can’t wait to get your December offer.

Perhaps even put your statements in the present tense rather than the future Bruce. I am staying on track. I am sticking to my plan.

Yes, Karen, that is a very good idea. Dr. Helmstetter, author of What Do You Say When You Talk To Yourself, says the same thing. Thank you for pointing that out.
