Wellness Tip of the Day #8

Should you take supplements? The answer is probably if you live in one of the industrialized nations of the world.
What supplements should you take? If you have an indoor job, you should consider 1000IU of Vitamin D3 but without Vitamin “derived from lanolin” or “contains no vitamin A”.
Omega 3 fatty acids – DHA and EPA – are very low in our diets. We get enough Omega 6 and 9 but without Omega 3, we are likely to have greater inflammation. This inflammation from its many sources is responsible for many of our health problems. Either supplement with 2000mg per day or eat lots of Salmon, Tuna and ground flax seed. I like Omega 3 derived from Krill oil, Neptune is the brand I buy.
I eat Brazil nuts each week for selenium and I take some Magnesium – good for the bowel and for sleep. I get enough calcium – 800mg per day – from my food. Calcium supplementation is kind of iffy for benefits.
So, what do you take? Let me know what and why in the comments section. Don’t forget to sign up for this blog by email and to also sign up to receive notifications about free teleseminars as they occur.
