Totally Tranquil and the Relaxation Response

If stress causes increased belly fat among other detrimental responses, how do you prevent it?

The remedy for the stress response is the opposite called the Relaxation response. This response settles the Amygdala and stops the HPA axis from reacting to stimulation from the brain Totally Tranquil and the Relaxation ResponseAmygdala.

Exercise, done regularly, is a way to keep the Amygdala from creating negative memories.  Remember it is our memories that help determine the response to stress that is perceived. If we feel stress but stimulate a relaxation response, we become more resistant to the effects of perceived stresses. When we can not exercise right now, meditation, prayer and visualization all can help us achieve our relaxation response.
